With your help, we can make this the most complete and updated Adirondack directory available.  We're just getting started, so your assistance is greatly appreciated!

The Adirondack Park is located in northern New York and consists of over 6 million acres - the size of the state of Vermont.  It is larger than
Yellowstone, the Everglades, Glacier and Grand Canyon National Park – COMBINED!

The park consists of both public and private lands, unlike other state or national parks.  More than 2.6 million acres are owned by the state of New York.  More than 1.3 million acres are designated as Wild Forest.  There are just over 137,000 year round residents living in 105 towns and villages.  There are over 3,000 ponds and lakes, 30,000 miles of rivers and streams, over 2,000 miles of hiking trails and almost 100 private and state-owned campgrounds.

The highest peak in the Adirondacks is Mount Marcy (5,344 feet) and Whiteface Mountain, the 5th highest peak at 4,867 feet is the highest mountain in the state that you can drive to (with fabulous panoramic views).

It's no wonder folks have been visiting the Adirondacks for more than 200 years to play in this spectacular outdoor playground.  Fishing, hiking, biking, swimming, paddling, ice skating, world-class skiing, snowmobiling and so much more are all here.
